Frequently Asked Questions
Need help choosing the right sunglasses? Below you’ll find answers about sizing, lens types, UV protection, shipping, returns and product care.
Choosing the Right Sunglasses
How do I know which sunglasses size will fit me?
Each product page includes lens width, bridge size and arm length. Compare these measurements to a pair you already own for the best fit.
What do the lens measurements mean?
Lens width is the width of each lens, bridge size is the gap between the lenses, and arm length is the length of the arms that sit over your ears.
Do you offer kids’ sunglasses?
Yes. We sell kids’ sunglasses for smaller faces, including styles for babies, young children, older kids and teenagers.
Do you sell men’s and women’s sunglasses?
Yes. Browse our men’s sunglasses and women’s sunglasses collections for popular frame shapes including aviators, round frames, cat eye sunglasses and classic styles.
Lenses, UV Protection and Standards
Are your sunglasses polarised?
Many of our styles are polarised. Polarised lenses help reduce glare from roads, water, sand and other reflective surfaces. Browse our polarised sunglasses range or look for the polarised badge on product pages.
Do your sunglasses block UV400?
Yes. All sunglasses sold on Sunnies.com.au provide UV400 protection, blocking 99–100% of UVA and UVB rays.
Are your sunglasses compliant with Australian standards?
Yes. Our sunglasses meet AS/NZS 1067.1:2016, the Australian and New Zealand standard covering sunglasses and fashion spectacles.
What are lens categories 2, 3 and 4?
Lens categories describe how dark the lenses are. Category 2 is a medium tint for everyday use, Category 3 is a dark tint for bright sunlight, and Category 4 is very dark and not suitable for driving. Check each product page for its lens category.
What is TAC lens material?
TAC, or Tri Acetate Cellulose, is a lightweight lens material commonly used in polarised sunglasses. It offers good clarity, durability and UV protection.
What is the difference between polarised and non-polarised sunglasses?
Polarised sunglasses reduce glare, which can make them better for driving, fishing, boating and bright outdoor conditions. Non-polarised sunglasses still provide UV protection but do not reduce reflected glare in the same way.
Frame Materials and Product Care
What frame materials do you use?
We offer frames made from materials including TR90, acetate, polycarbonate, stainless steel and other durable plastics or metals. Each product page lists the relevant frame details where available.
Are TR90 frames better?
TR90 is lightweight, flexible and durable, making it a good choice for active use, kids’ sunglasses and comfortable everyday wear.
How do I clean my sunglasses?
Use a microfibre cloth and lens-safe spray. Avoid paper towels, clothing, household cleaners and harsh chemicals, as these can scratch or damage the lenses.
Do you sell accessories and replacement parts?
Yes. We sell sunglasses cases, straps, nose pads, clip-ons and fitovers.
Prescription, Reading and Safety Glasses
Do you offer prescription sunglasses?
Not at this time. Some customers purchase frames and arrange prescription lenses through their own optometrist, but this depends on the frame and lens requirements.
Do you sell reading glasses?
Yes. You can browse our reading glasses range online.
Do you sell safety glasses?
Yes. We sell safety glasses for eye protection. Check the individual product page for the applicable safety standard and use case.
